About

The property is owned by the dynamic and good-looking cousins Hein and Adi Badenhorst. They are originally from Constantia. Their grandfather was the farm manager of Groot Constantia for 46 years. Their fathers were born there and farmed together in Constantia, during the days when people still ate fresh vegetables and Hanepoot grapes, drank Cinsault and there were a lot less traffic lights and hippies still had a presence. Together these two have restored a neglected cellar on the farm that was last used in the 1930s to make natural wines in the traditional manner.

3x Secateurs Chenin Blanc 2022

• This wine was left on its gross lees for 7 months in concrete tanks and old casks before being bottled with occasional lees stirring during this time.
• The aromas are flinty with honey, orange blossom and white stone fruit note.
• Enjoy on its own, or pair with seafood such as pan-fried prawns.
• Alcohol by Volume: 13%

3x Secateurs Red Blend 2022

• This is a new vintage that has not been rated yet.
• Previous vintage award: 91 Points Tim Atkin.
• A red blend of Cinsault, Grenache and Shiraz. 
• The blended wine was left on its gross lees in casks, foudres and concrete tanks for 7 months before being bottled. 
• The aromas are perfumed, peppery, spicy and exhibit ripe red fruit notes. 
• As always, the palate texture of this style of wine is supple and smooth on the entry, but with enough grip and freshness to finish dry and refreshing.
• In the mouth the texture and fineness of fruit tannin and drinkability of the wine are immediately evident.
• Enjoy with cheese and charcuterie.
• Varietals: 54% Cinsault, 23% Grenache, 23% Shiraz
• Alcohol by Volume: 13%
