About

Snowflake is so much more than flour! Our bold spirit of innovation, imagination and inspiration is ingrained in everything we’ve brought to kitchens across South Africa for over 134 years.

Since 1884, it’s been our mission to inspire connections and community by spreading the joy of baking and cooking at every level. We support budding bakeries, empower growing businesses, and stand by national brands.

Snowflake is a modern brand – but with good, old-fashioned family values when it comes to looking after the people who matter most. Today, there are five Snowflake mills across the nation, creating flour that’s milled to perfection. Snowflake remains South Africa's partner in baking and cooking with a wide range of flour products, baking aids and premixes for any occasion – sweet or savoury.

We’ll help you take your baking and cooking to the next level. With consistency as our topmost concern, you can expect your Snowflake product to perform flawlessly during every cook!

If you were ever wondering...

...what provides the inspiration for these write-ups, today's your lucky day. You're about to find out.

99% of the time it's the products. Unsurprising. But also so very corporate and predictable. And we hate that. So once in a while we like to draw our creativity from elsewhere, such as:

If E is the most common letter in the English alphabet, why is it so particular? Surely it should've been shaped like an I, just a single straight line? It seems excessive to have to draw the extra three horizontal lines, when really it could've been avoided.

If you know the answer, as in really truly know, please write to us at EisshapedlikeEbecause@onedayonly.co.za

Otherwise enjoy thinking about that too for the next three or so years.
