Ever noticed how cats have something of a bad rap when it comes to English expressions? 'Well, look what the cat dragged in' we might say when our sister walks in at 1am after a night out with the gals. Or 'there's more than one way to skin a cat' - shame! Why would you even want to do that in the first place? 'Curiosity killed the cat', 'cat got your tongue', 'scaredy-cat'. Who even came up with these? Clearly a strict doggy fan!
