Store your axe correctly to keep it rust-free. Don t store you axe in a leather sheath for an extended period. Moisture and chemicals in the leather can cause your blade to rust. Your blade needs to be dry and lubricated before storage. Remember, even the most advanced steels will rust if not cared for properly. A skeggox is not a heavy-duty wood-chopping axe.
The blade is thin and made for cutting, whilst a wood chipping axe has a wedge-shaped blade to withstand the impact. The elongated parts of the blade are especially vulnerable to heavy effects since they have no "backing". They are there to minimize weight and increase the cutting edge.
