About the author: Michelle Paver was born in Central Africa but came to England as a child. After gaining a degree in Biochemistry from Oxford University, she became a partner in a City law firm, but eventually gave that up to write full-time.

The hugely successful Chronicles of Ancient Darkness series arose from Michelle's lifelong passion for animals, anthropology, and the distant past - as well as an encounter with a large bear in a remote valley in southern California. To research the books, Michelle has travelled to Finland, Greenland, Sweden, Norway, Arctic Canada, and the Carpathian Mountains. She has slept on reindeer skins, swum with wild orca (killer whales), and got nose-to-nose with polar bears - and, of course, wolves.

In Spirit Walker, a horrible sickness attacks the Clans, and Torak has to find the cure. His search takes him across the Sea to the islands of the Seal Clan, where he encounters demons and killer whales, and gets closer to uncovering the truth behind his father’s death, as well as learning of his own undreamed-of powers.

Soul Eater Book 3

Torak has survived the summer and his heart-stopping adventure in the Seal Islands. He and Wolf are together again. But their reunion is all too short-lived. As mid-winter approaches Torak learns the worst from the White Fox clan – Wolf has been snatched.

In a desperate bid to rescue him, Torak and Renn must brave the frozen wilderness of the Far North. They tread a deadly dangerous path as they step into a world of deceit, treachery and lies and come face to face with the most powerful and feared mages alive. Outcast Book 4

The dreadful secret that Torak carries with him at the close of Soul Eater is revealed and he is cast out from the clans.

Oath Breaker Book 5

When he was outcast, Torak was the hunted one.

The following spring, he becomes the hunter when he swears to avenge the killing of one of his closest friends. To fulfil his oath, he must brave the hidden valleys of the Deep Forest, where the clans have reverted to the savagery of an earlier time. Here, Torak finally learns why he is the Spirit Walker – and discovers the true cost of revenge…

Ghost Hunter Book 6
