Barron's Totally Wild Fact-packed, Fold-out, Animal Atlas
Get ready to let them hold the whole world in their hands when you give them this big, bright, beautiful atlas! All of the weird and wonderful animals that inhabit our extraordinary earth are here to delight and enchant young readers (Mom and Dad, too!). Created in rich, glorious detail, illustrated maps give curious kids something to pore over and discover every time, including:
Big Cats
This is one of a series investigating the grislier aspects of natural history. The book describes nutrition, growth and movement in big cats, and special "X-ray"-style pages enable readers to see how the internal structure of a big cat corresponds to its external appearance
Hippos
Terrifying river horses? Protective mothers? Enemies of ancient Egypt? How do hippos live? What's a pygmy hippo? Are hippos in danger? This work helps you find out the answers to these questions and more. It contains special x-ray pages that enable readers to see the inside of a hippo and offer a look into their habitat.
Hyenas
Where do hyenas live? What do they eat, and how do they catch their prey? Do hyenas really laugh? Who thinks hyenas are scary? This book takes a look at hyenas, from how these fascinating creatures live and hunt to their relationship with human beings.
Yup. Cape Town's favourite amusement park is officially shutting the doors for good on May 1st 2018.
It shouldn't really come as a shock. Ratanga Junction opened in December 1998 and it's kind of been closing down ever since. But now that it's official, we can't help but feel we need to hop on to the Cobra and hang on to our hats once more for old times' sake.
We'll be sorry to see it go.
Anyhoo, if you need a pick-me-up, here are a few phenomenal deals with which you can exercise some retail therapy.
