About

It was 30 years back – a generation ago – that the brand which has become synonymous with Pinotage was ‘born’ when the first vineyard was planted at the small home farm off the Koelenhof road, bought in 1988. Marvelling at growth and development during the 30 years since Beyers thrust his hands into the soil and planted the first vines on home soil, it’s exciting to contemplate what the next 30 years might hold as Anri and the Beyerskloof family push the envelope viticulturally and in the cellar. Might there even be one more expression of Pinotage in the making?

• Awards: 4.5 Star Platter, 93 Points International Wine & Spirits Competition.
• Grapes were pressed before fermentation finished and malolactic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks. 
• The wine went into new French oak barrels for 20 months.
• Intense dark red colour.
• Pleasant plum and blackberry aromas upfront with lovely cedar oak in the background.
• A big structured wine with intense dark fruit flavours and pleasant hints of chocolate from the barrel toasting. 
• This wine has great depth and balance with a lasting finish. 
• The wine will age superbly for 10 years or longer and will pair well with matured Sirloin/Rib eye on the bone and spicy Indian curries.
