Afrikaans is made to be accessible but structured with rich, ripe fruit to appeal to the palate and encourage another sip. A wine for every occasion, without complication, without pretension. Welcoming and exuberant, Afrikaans is made for sharing. A poem entitled My Taal (My Language), each vintage written by a prominent South African, adorns the back label of the wine. Volume IV was written by singer Adam Tas. It speaks eloquently of the Afrikaans language, and through its words, brings these wines to life.
Product Features
- The must undergoes a slow, cool fermentation process in a combination of vessels, including new and seasoned oak barrels.
- After fermentation, the wine is matured on the fine lees for 6 months for texture and mouthfeel. 18% new oak is used.
- Bright aromas of lemon, peach, and pineapples, along with baked apple crumble and vanilla.
- Rich fruit follows through on the palate, where the juicy flavours are accompanied by an integrated acidity, giving the palate a smooth, rounded mouthfeel.
- Enjoy with creamy pasta dishes.
