About

Afrikaans is made to be accessible but structured with rich, ripe fruit to appeal to the palate and encourage another sip. A wine for every occasion, without complication, without pretension. Welcoming and exuberant, Afrikaans is made for sharing. A poem entitled My Taal (My Language), each vintage written by a prominent South African, adorns the back label of the wine. Volume IV was written by singer Adam Tas. It speaks eloquently of the Afrikaans language, and through its words, brings these wines to life.

Product Features
  • A red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cinsault.
  • After maceration, the wine is pressed off the skins into 500L seasoned French oak barrels for 12 months of maturation.
  • Vibrant black and red currants combine with dark chocolate, spices, and a note of fynbos.
  • On the palate, intense black currant and black cherry are supported by grippy, youthful tannins which in turn are softened by the juicy red fruit of the Cinsault.
  • Zesty acidity contrasts with the ripeness of the fruit, balanced by savoury notes of black pepper and tobacco leaf.
  • Enjoy with red meat dishes.

Desperately Seeking Space

Dear Agony Auntie,

I'm in a bit of a pickle. I recently went on a trip, and, like any Joburger would, overpacked. Fast forward, and it turns out that OR Tambo takes weight limits very seriously. In a bizarre striptease, pulling out clothes and shoving them into my carry-on, I was involved in a heated argument with the x-ray machine.

Was I wrong? Are the air gods mad at me? Any tips on travelling light, or should I just invest in a larger bag?

Dear anonymous,

You were probably wrong. Packing is a fine art, and it takes experience to master the balance between "I might need this" and "I won't wear this once." But don't let this luggage fiasco ground your spirits! Fly through future trips stress-free by investing in our deal on a Mooistar 3-Piece Hard Shell Luggage Set.
