This is a special older vintage that has been matured in optimal conditions by the Distell Vinoteque at Die Bergkelder in Stellenbosch.

Fleur du Cap (French for “Flower of the Cape”) is greatly inspired by the Cape Floral Kingdom – a wildflower region famed for its natural beauty and rich biodiversity – with each species blossoming in the specific soil and climate best suited to their needs. It is this Cape Floral Kingdom that has greatly inspired our wines to not be defined by a single place or vineyard. Our philosophy is based around the freedom to explore – to find our grapes where they grow best, rather than be constrained by district, farm, climate or even vineyard.

Product Features

• After fermentation, the wine was transferred to predominately 300L French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation and left to mature for 18 months.
• This wine has a deep ruby colour with a bright hue.
• Juicy plums, cherries, coffee, and roasted Italian herbs. 
• Appealing rounded weight and plush richness on the 2017. 
• Still looking very youthful, but with its open-knit style, you'd be safe to pull corks now, or rewarded with further cellaring until 2026.
• Enjoy with parma ham, roast lamb kebabs, and hearty oxtail stew.
