About
Situated near Stellenbosch, Spier is one of South Africa’s oldest wine farms with a recorded winemaking history dating back to 1692. While rooted in this heritage, we've got a vibrant and conscious energy, and are home to one of the largest collections of contemporary South African art.
Product Features
- After fermentation, 20% of the wine was matured in French oak barrels for 8 to 10 months; the remainder matured in tanks with French oak staves to complement the wine’s flavour profile and length.
- The wine was blended at the end of maturation.
- Raspberry, blackcurrant and blackberry aromas supported by black pepper and subtle oak spice lead to a well-balanced, medium-bodied style of wine with a smooth, velvety tannin.
- Enjoy with a savoury pasta dish.
