About

Simonsig Wine Estate is synonymous with the history of the South African wine industry, the Stellenbosch wine region, and the Malan family name. These elements are intertwined in this family-owned farm, where the late Frans Malan produced the first bottle of our much-loved Kaapse Vonkel, South Africaʼs first Cap Classique made in the classic bottle-fermented style. He is also honoured for co-founding the thriving Stellenbosch Wine Route, a first in its time. Today, his legacy lives on through his sons, Francois and Johan, and grandchildren Francois-Jacques, Christelle and Michael, the 2nd and 3rd Malan generations at Simonsig Wine Estate.

Kaapse Vonkel Satin Nectar Rosé 2021

• Award: Gold Rosé Rocks
• This Cap Classique is bottle fermented and aged on the lees for 15 months prior to disgorgement. 
• During disgorgement, a larger volume of dosage is added to ensure a perfectly balanced Demi-Sec Cap Classique.
• With a delightful salmon colour, this vibrant Cap Classique has an elegant bubble and persistent mousse. 
• Decadent aromas of wild strawberries and candied raspberries are followed by layers of tropical and stone fruits. 
• A fresh palate showcases flavours of red apples, plums, and cherries. 
• A perfectly balanced Nectar Cap Classique with good structure and beautifully balanced acidity.
• Enjoy with Chinese and Thai dishes, lightly dressed seafood salads, fruit salads with red fruits and berries, Japanese sushi, crayfish Thermidor and last, but not least, a decadent dessert.

• This Cap Classique is bottle fermented and aged on the lees for 15 months prior to disgorgement. 
• During disgorgement, a larger volume of dosage is added to ensure a perfectly balanced Demi-Sec Cap Classique.
• A vibrant Demi Sec Cap Classique with a light golden hue and elegant, persistent mousse. 
• On the nose, aromas of sun ripe apple and peaches are followed by layers of tropical fruits. 
• A luscious palate of mango and canned peaches with hints of lemon cream biscuits. 
• Beautiful acidity contributes to a perfectly balanced Demi Sec Cap Classique, making every occasion a memorable one.
• Pair it with ripe full cream cheeses like Camembert and Brie or Blue Cheese or with fruity desserts made from orange, lemon and mango, or with hazelnut praline.
