In 1992, the Schmitz family established Hoopenburg Wines, a quality-driven, boutique wine farm situated in the Greater Simonsberg wine Ward of Stellenbosch. It is the only Cape farm where 100% of the wine originates from grapes produced by bush vines. Hoopenburg is home to a team of spirited people who bring passion and innovation to the winemaking and selling process. Our winemaker sees his role as one of providing harmony to the vineyard, to capture and enhancing the natural balance and quality that come from a great vineyard site, therefore producing world class wines for the consumer of today.

• The origin of these grapes stems from 100% Chardonnay bush vine on the estate. 
• Timeous harvesting at 19.5° balling ensures freshness and crispness resembling the flavours of ripe Granny Smith apples. 
• Disgorging of the Cap Classique is done after 15 to 18 months on the lees.
• With an elegant light golden hue, this MCC displays vibrant aromas of white peach, citrus blossoms.
• On the palate the fresh apple is beautifully complimented by hints of nectarines.
• The nose offers Granny Smith apple aromas, complemented by yeasty dough and biscuits.
• Delicate bubbles and lively acidity contributes to an elegant finish.
• Pair this wine with a fish dish such as smoked salmon or sushi.
