Le Grand Domaine is situated at the top of beautiful Devon Valley, overlooking the majestic Stellenbosch mountains. Devon Valley is one of Stellenbosch’s best-kept secrets, both scenically and viticulturally. Vines have flourished here since the 18th century and it has an enviable reputation, not only for the red wines that are made here but also as a source of premium grapes. The Devon Valley was demarcated in 1997, within the Stellenbosch Wine of Origin. The valley is open to the south and demarcated by low hills on the other sides.

Product Features

• The Shiraz and Mourvèdre vineyard are planted quite close to Stellenbosch center in decomposed granite soils.
• These two vineyards are positioned in a North-south row direction for perfect sun exposure and air movement.
• Low yielding of approximately 6 -7 tons per hectare ensure for good intensity fruit and colour. 
• The aroma of blueberry preserve mingles with plum, raspberry, and a hint of dried cranberry.
• On the palate, succulent black plum intertwines with tobacco, cigar box, and savoury undertones.
• Balanced acidity harmoniously binds these elements, creating a wine that's both captivating and cohesive.
• Serves nicely with barbequed red meats.
