Have you ever heard of the phrase, purchase wine according to the grapes' address? Well, we are currently talking about the Golden Mile of Pinot Noir property. The Pinot Noir grapes come from the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge, where some of the country's most awarded wines come from. Only 10km in proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, the climate is “temperate” in style, where the southerly maritime winds blow through the appellations during the summer cooling the grapes significantly. If you are a Pinot Noir fan but not necessarily a fan of the price tag associated with the varietal, then we would highly recommend considering this option.

2 x The Affair Pinot Noir

• Award: 92 Points Trophy Wine Show, Gold Vitis Vinifera.
• Previous vintage awards: Gold Veritas, 92 Points Trophy Wine Show, 4 Star Platter, Gold Vitis Vinifera, Gold Merit Value Award Wine & Spirit Challenge.
• Cold maceration occurred for an average of 3 days after which the cooling was turned off and the juice was inoculated with a Burgundian yeast strain. 
• The wine was then fermented under controlled temperatures until dry. 
• The skins were then lightly pressed and the wine racked into a selection of French oak barrels for 9 months of aging and maturation, 25% of which were new. 
• Final blending occurred one month prior to bottling
• Alcohol by Volume: 13.5%

2 x Seduction Pinot Noir

• The La Vierge Collection’s Seduction Pinot Noir is our cool climate expression of a youthful, vibrant style of Pinot. It is made in an elegant, yet accessible, style and showcases Pinot’s softer side.
• The grapes were harvested in three batches by hand enjoying cool early morning temperatures. 
• Cold maceration occurred for 3 days where after the grapes were fermented until dry.
• The skins were then lightly pressed, and the wine racked into stainless steel tanks for 9 months ageing and maturation. 
• On the nose, she delivers ripe succulent raspberries and cherries with a hint of warm spiciness. 
• This makes our Seduction Pinot Noir perfect to enjoy with tapas, snacks, cheese platters and light meals like our Asparagus Starter for an example.
• Alcohol by Volume: 13.23%

2 x Noir Pinot Noir

• This wine shows cool climate poise and elegance with an earthy and bright fruit character.
• The wine was fermented under controlled temperatures until dry. The skins were then lightly pressed and the wine racked into a selection of French Oak Barriques (30% new barrels) for 9 months ageing and maturation.
• This vintage expresses the typical earthy and savoury aroma of this fine Burgundy variety and is backed by a red fruit character. 
• A greater selection clones and blocks during picking and older elements in the blend shows a darker and more textured style in bottle from previous vintages.
• Delicate tannins and an elegant mineral core will see this wine drinking well on release and developing for at least 5 years.
• Enjoy this wine with mushroom risotto, roast game, cream-based pasta and hard cheese platters.
• Alcohol by volume: 13.3%
