Alto is situated in the heart of the so-called ‘Golden Triangle’, and the farm’s position on the warmer northern slopes of the Helderberg make it ideally suited to red wine production. And yet the diversity of the farm allows for enormous complexity in the vineyards.

• After malolactic fermentation, the wine was racked into first-, second and third-fill French oak barrels and matured for 18 months.
• Dark, intense plum red in colour.
• On the nose is red fruit and well integrated cedarwood spice with savoury notes.
• Dark chocolate with a hint of chalky minerals.
• Deep, rich and intense with great balance between structure and finesse.
• Fine grained tannins, with generosity of texture and depth.
• Excellent on its own or served with red meat or casseroles.
