About

Vrede en Lust, a family-owned and managed wine estate, is nestled at the foothills of the Simonsberg in South Africa’s most celebrated Franschhoek wine valley. The history of the farm dates back to 1688 and discloses a story of vision, passion, and pride.

Product Features
  • Awards: 90 Points Tim Atkin, 94 Points Winemag
  • Previous awards: 90 Points Tim Atkin, Double Gold Michelangelo.
  • The wine was matured in French oak barrels (35% new oak) for 16-18 months.
  • The nose is greeted with a bouquet of dark fruits accompanied by a subtle oak influence. Ripe blackberries and cassis dominate with nuances of black cherry.
  • Hints of cedar, vanilla, and a delicate wisp of tobacco add layers of complexity and a sense of refinement.
  • Blackcurrant and black plum flavours take centre stage on the palate, followed by notes of dark chocolate and a touch of espresso.
  • The finish is long and satisfying, leaving a lingering impression of dark fruit and a touch of toasted oak.
  • Enjoy with hearty dishes such as ribeye steak, braised short rib or stews.
Product Specifications

  • Varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon (51%); Merlot (31%), Malbec (9%), Petit Verdot (9%)

Deal with it!

Look, it's okay to complain from time to time. In fact, sometimes letting off steam can be good for you. Sat in traffic for 45 minutes en route to work? Definitely rant about it to your office bestie when you get there. Eggs Benedict cold when the waiter brings them out? Totally send them back.

Some things, though, are not worth complaining about. That bald patch? Wear a hat and get on with it. Getting a little too cold to wear your favourite mini? It's called winter, babes, deal with it.

Loadshedding? Come on, now. At this STAGE, if you don't have a power station like our deal on this one from Elecstor, that's on you. (And Eskom, obvs, but they're not going to buy one for you.)
