Alto is situated in the heart of the so-called ‘Golden Triangle’, and the farm’s position on the warmer northern slopes of the Helderberg make it ideally suited to red wine production. And yet the diversity of the farm allows for enormous complexity in the vineyards.

- After malolactic fermentation the component wines were aged for 14-16 months in a combination of first-, second-and third-fill barriques, mostly of French and American oak, before the desired blend was made.
- Deep and rich red.
- Rich, dark fruit flavours supported by cedarwood spice and hints of chocolate dominant on the nose.
- Fresh red and rich dark fruit flavours on the palate, backed up by soft, elegant tannins.
