SchubART has a long and proud paint history going way back to the 1950’s , when a husband and wife team of paint chemists emigrated from Germany to South Africa. Three years later a new paint company surfaced on the South African market. After many successful years of producing an extensive range of paints under the name of Shura Paints, SchubART was created in 1998 to satisfy the demanding and growing needs of the local artist community.
Acrylic paints have been available since the 1950’s and have gained tremendous popularity due to the ease of use, affordability and fast drying times. They are recommended for the professional artist as well as for the hobbyist and for schools.
This range consists of the same colours as the Artists' Acrylics, making the transition from Student Acrylics to Artist’s Acrylic a lot easier.
Only high-quality, light-fast pigments are used. Viscosity is lower than that of the Artist’s Acrylics, but due to the high pigment loading still offers exceptional coverage. Student Acrylics have an attractive satin finish due to the high level of acrylic binder and low level of inert fillers.
There are plenty of things that make us truly South African, and a lot of the time these very things may come off as a little strange to someone not from Mzansi. We say 'Ag, shame!' for pretty much everything. We're effortlessly able to differentiate 'now' from 'now now' and 'just now' without really being able to explain how. We call traffic lights 'robots' and manage to navigate through them during loadshedding, and even when we do have electricity, we're always happy to cook on a fire.
As strange a bunch as we may seem to the outside world, we're always proud to strut our stuff and wear our Rainbow Nation flag with pride, especially with the Boks doing so well and set to face New Zealand this weekend. Come rain or shine, we suggest wearing our colours with extra flair come the World Cup, with our main deal of men's SA flag swimming briefs from BeanBagTheBrand. Make us proud!
